Obituary for Helen I Ford (Martin)
NORTH BROOKFIELD- Helen I. (Martin) Ford, 94, of North Brookfield passed away peacefully at home Saturday, August 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years and the love of her life, Frank Ford.
She leaves her family; two daughters, Earlene Lapierre and her husband Bernard of North Brookfield and Jean Ford of Worcester; four sons, Paul Ford and his wife Pamela of Rutland, Richard Ford and his wife Susan, James Ford and his wife Joanne, and Robert Ford all of North Brookfield; 13 grandchildren, Rose Hinerth and her husband Jason of North Brookfield, Bernard Lapierre and his wife Joan of Northbridge, Matthew Lapierre and his wife Melanie of Tucson, AZ, Melissa Devlin and her husband Sean of Ashland, Richard Ford and his wife Meredith of Burlington, Timothy Ford and his wife Michelle and Jeffrey Ford of North Brookfield, Michaela and Tyler Ford of Rutland, Jessica Ford of North Brookfield, Jaclyn Ford of Worcester, Joel Ford of Easthampton, and pre-deceased by James Ford; 17 great-grandchildren, Dakota Hinerth, Nicole, Marc and Lauren Lapierre, Amelia and Emaline Lapierre, Maeve and Fiona Devlin, Branden Ford, Caitlyn Ford and Ashlyn Drost, Lenna Ford, Joshua Zaik, Billy Mendala, Emily and Oliver Davis, Adrie Ford; one great-great-grandchild Jacoby Baker. She also leaves 3 brothers, Arthur Martin of Lee, MA, Carl Martin of Williamstown, VT and Victor Martin and his wife Bernice of Las Vegas, NV, several nieces and nephews and is pre-deceased by 3 sisters, Marion, Elsie and Gladys, and 2 brothers, Robert and Leon.
Helen was born and raised in South Royalton, Vermont. She moved to North Brookfield with her husband, where she had been a resident for over 70 years.
She retired from Wm. E. Wrights Company, West Warren, MA. She was an avid reader, liked to refinish furniture and made beautiful crafts for everyone she loved. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Her kind heart, sweet gestures and her loving and mischievous humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge the excellent care provided over the years by Dr. Elizabeth Fuller and recently by the wonderful staffs of Harrington Hospital, UMass Memorial Hospital, Overlook Rehab and VNA Hospice and Palliative Care.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017, 11:45am at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert Street, North Brookfield. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 10:30am-11:30am. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Elm St, North Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Haston Free Public Library, 161 North Main Street, North Brookfield, MA 01535.
