BARRE- David W Edgecombe, 62, passed away at his home after a short but brutal fight with cancer. He was born in Attleboro,MA and graduated from Peru High School in NY. & Canton ATC in Canton, NY. with an Associates degree in Electrical Technology.
David leaves his wife of 39 years Betty J Edgecombe, a son Edward W. and a daughter Alyssa M. all of Barre. He also leaves a sister Pamela J Edgecombe of N.Attleboro, MA.
He was very proud of being from a military family and spent his childhood in Greece,California,Ohio and New York. David loved his job traveling as a field service principal engineer for GenRad and later for Spectral Dynamics covering the East Coast and Canada. He had a habit of taking on a new interest and going full speed ahead learning all he could and perfecting it to the best of his ability. Some of those were skiing, paintball, target shooting,hunting,fishing and photography. The last few years he had also taken up a keen interest in the canning of his apple juice. David was generally found working around his yard and garden, repairing a vehicle or just plain tinkering. He was a good neighbor and was always willing to lend a hand or a tool. He was a life member of both the Leominster Sportsman Club & the Barre Sportsman Clubs and a former member of the Clinton Sportsman Club. David also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and went on several long trips, including twice to Sturgis,SD for the motorcycle rally.
