Ronald Crook Sr.
BROOKFIELD- Ronald W Crook, 74, passed away peaceful on Friday June 1, 2018 at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA, after an eleven year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Dianne Gero Crook; sons Todd and Ron Jr. of Cathedral City, CA; a brother Otis “Skip” and his wife Holly of Cherry Valley; a sister Diane Plezewski of Brookfield; two grandchildren; several nieces & nephews and his “special buddy” Christine Palmer and her family.
Ron was born in New London, CT to Otis C. and Martha Crook. He attended Worcester schools and lived in Brookfield since 1984. He proudly served in United States Navy aboard the USS Davis during the Vietnam war. He worked as a foreman in various wire drawing mills in the area.
He was an active member of the North American Family Camping Association and enjoyed many miles traveling the continental United States, Canada and Alaska in his motorhome with his wife. He enjoyed spending the warm winter months in Florida at his place in Paradise Lakes.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Bedford VA, building 62B, for the loving and professional care he received while there for the last two months.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. in Pillsbury Funeral Home 3 West Brookfield Road, Brookfield. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 9,2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brookfield Cemetery.
