North Brookfield- Hervy J. Ostiguy, 95 - passed away on Saturday April 26,2014. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the 4th Infantry Division.He is predeceased by his wife Rose(Wetnicka) Ostiguy in 2000 and a son in law Raymond Cormier in 1975; brothers Arthur and George Ostiguy ; sisters Irene Ostiguy Jolicoeur and Anna Ostiguy Woodis. He leaves a sister Rita Ostiguy Jolicoeur of Plattsburgh, NY.; his son James Ostiguy & his wife Linda of Brookfield; a daughter Marie Ostiguy Cormier of North Brookfield ; a granddaughter Janell Forget and her husband Tony of Charlton; grandsons Todd Cormier & his wife Lynne, Tracy Cormier & his wife Donna, Tate Ostiguy all of North Brookfield and Troy Cormier of Jackman,ME.; 6 great grandchildren, Trevor & Collin Cormier, Ashley Cormier, Lindsey and Rachael Ostiguy all of North Brookfield and Zoe Rose Forget of Charlton; many nieces & nephews.
He enjoyed hunting and his grandchildren and great grandchildren which were his pride and joy. He was a farmer and also a heavy equipment operator. He is best known for his prize oxen and competed in many fairs every summer. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Massachusetts Ox Teamsters and New England Ox Teamsters.He was also a member of the North Brookfield American Legion Post 0041 and the North Brookfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3439.
