NORTH BROOKFIELD- Stephen A. Ruggere, 63, died on Tuesday, October 27,2015 at Umass Memorial Medical Center after a long battle with Cancer, surrounded by family. 

Born and raised in Boston, MA, the oldest of 5 ,to the late Arthur 'Buddy" Ruggere and Mary (Oliver) Ruggere of Pembroke. He also leaves his loving wife of 41 years Rita (Connolly) Ruggere; daughters Amy & her husband Adam Kurkjian of North Attleboro; Megan & her husband Aaron Packard of North Brookfield; Rebecca & her fiancé Sean Kelly of North Brookfield; brothers Michael Ruggere & his wife Rose of Weymouth; Mary Cosgrove & her husband Steve of West Bridgewater, Timothy Ruggere & his wife Debbie of Andover; the late Richard Ruggere and his wife Martine of Canada; many wonderful nieces, nephews and he was “Papa” to Amon and Ivy Packard

He was very musical at an early age. Excelled in his studies at BC High School, and later at Berklee School of Music, Lowell State and Umass. After many wonderful years as a performer and a contributing writer for Guitar Player Magazine, he started a long and successful career at Bose Corporation in Framingham before retiring in 2012 as  Creative Director of Music and Sound Design. He loved his work, which brought him around the world, and in contact with people who would become life long friends. 

In 1974, he married the love of his life, Rita Connolly. Together, they raised three daughters within a loving home. In 1986, he moved his family from Boston, to a ten acre farm in North Brookfield, where he would live happily for the rest of his life. His later years where marked with illness, none of which he would allow to diminish his spirit or define him in any way. He loved watching his grandchildren play, who were better at making him laugh than anyone else. 

Friends and family are ivied to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 4,2015 from 5-8PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home 44 Gilbert St. North Brookfield. The funeral will be held on Thursday with a Mass at 11:00AM in St. Josephs Church 296 Main St. N. Brookfield. Burial will be private for the family.
