Obituary for Ruth M Regienus (Taylor)

BARRE – Ruth M. (Taylor) Regienus, 95, of Barre, died on Sunday, February 21 in the Holden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Mrs. Regienus was married to the late Albert J. Regienus who died in 1977. She is survived by a daughter, Judy E. Noonan of Barre; a daughter in law Judy Ann Tenney & her husband John; her grandchildren, Shane Noonan with whom she lived, Ryan Noonan, Mark Regienus, Lori Shearer & her husband Kenny & Lynn Regienus and 6 great grandchildren, Alex, Dakota, Brody, Ian, Dillon and Aidan.

Ruth was born in Barre, daughter of the late George and Mildred (Carbery) Taylor and is also predeceased by a son, Albert Regienus Jr. who died in 1995; a son in law, Charles H. Noonan who died in 2013 and a brother Thomas Taylor.

Mrs. Regienus started her work career as a secretary at Allen’s Foundry in Barre and then co owned and operated the Albert J. Regienus Lumber Company for many years before she retired.

Ruth was a Registrar of Voters for the Town of Barre. She was the president with her daughter Judy of the Massachusetts Fan Club for Engelbert Humperdink and traveled all over the country with other fan club members to see his concerts. Ruth could be found cleaning the town common on a daily basis.

The family would like to thank Brookhaven Hospice, Elder Services of Worcester, Holden Rehab and the many caretakers who made it possible for her to be at home even for a short time.

Burial will be held at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Ruth may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter PO Box136 E.
