BROOKFIELD-Vienna J. Wessell, 82, died on June 3,2017 at home after multiple illnesses.

She was predeceased by her husband Holden E. Wessell in 1993. Born in Vancouver , Washington to Marguerite (Gillott) Niemi Church and Martin Niemi in 1935. Predeceased by a sister Mary Church. She leaves a sister, Georgia Cordes and her husband Brock, two brothers Gary and wife Judy Church, Paul and wife Gerrie, a son Dee and Ann Coven, daughter Deborah and husband Paul Ayers, 3 grandchildren Dara and husband Jonathan Holcomb, Brian Ayers and wife Elise, Lisa and husband David Skoczylas, 4 great grandchildren Tyler and Alexis Holcomb, Colby Ayers, and Ethan Skoczylas.

A true pioneer woman growing up in Alaska and graduated from Anchorage High School. After marriage she moved to Massachusetts and to Brookfield in 1969. She loved Alaska and maintained many friendships with her childhood friends and attended many high school reunions. She loved telling stories about Alaska..

She belonged to the Brookfield Congregational Church and was active with the Helping Hands.

There will be no service or calling hours. After cremation ashes will be spread in Alaska and Brookfield. The family wishes to thank The Salmon VNA and Hospice for their excellent care and support.
