Obituary for Virginia "Ginger" Duhamel

BROOKFIELD - Virginia I. "Ginger" (LeBeau) Duhamel, 76, of Brookfield, joined her husband Bernie on March 8, 2018 following a long illness.

Ginger was born the youngest of seven on Feb. 9, 1942 in Worcester to the late Henry and Irene (Kneeland) LeBeau. A chance meeting at Coney Island in Worcester, led her to the man she was to spend her life with. She worked for many years at the former Quaboag Sporting Goods. Ginger was an avid Red Sox fan and rarely missed a game.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Bernie E. Duhamel, Sr. in 2017, her parents; her sisters, Marilyn, Beverly, and Elaine; and her brothers, Henry Leo "Sonny" Jr., Raymond, Richard, and Ronald. She leaves two daughters, Marilyn Prue and her husband Dick, of Brookfield; Beverly Nunez and her husband, Carlos, of Westfield; a son, Bernard "Bernie" Duhamel, of Lafayette, Colorado; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on THURSDAY, March 15,2018 from 5 -7 pm in Pillsbury Funeral Home 3 West Brookfield Rd in Brookfield. The funeral service for Ginger will be held on FRIDAY at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O., Box 136, East Brookfield, MA, 01515.
