Obituary for Lenore Engdahl

WEST BROOKFIELD- Lenore Engdahl, age 100, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of June 19, 2018 at her beloved Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. 

She leaves her three beloved children Eugene Kwasniewski of Arlington, MA,   Kristine Sessa and her husband, Natalino, of Spencer, MA and Jon Kwasie and his wife Helene, of Gloucester, MA;  5 beloved grandchildren Thomas Sessa and his wife Shannon, Frank Sessa and his partner Katie Caldwell, Anna Sessa, John-Paul Kwasie and his wife, Hannah and Maryellen Kwasie; her beloved nieces and nephew SueAnne Engdahl, Kathryn Engdahl and Brad Engdahl.   She is predeceased by her brothers Frank and Eugene.

On April 8, 1918 Lenore was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She was the daughter of Walfrid and Augusta Engdahl, both Swedish immigrants.  While still a toddler, she began playing the piano.  Lenore recorded albums with MGM and taught piano at Dana Hall School, Boston University School of Music and privately in her home.  She taught until she was 91 and gave her last solo recital at the age of 92. 

Lenore requested no funeral services.  There will be a memorial service at a later date.  It was her wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in her memory. Pillsbury Funeral Home 3 West Brookfield Rd. Brookfield is directing arrangements.
