WARE-Kathryn Collins, 75, died peacefully at home Monday, February 11th, after a yearlong battle with lung cancer. Throughout, she carried on with a kindness, spirit, determination and sense of humor that warmed everyone she knew.

Kay was born April 20, 1943 in Ware, where she lived nearly all her life. A longtime employee of the University of Massachusetts, Kay treasured her extended family and friends and loved trips to the beach, gardening, birds, and chatting outdoors on a sunny day. She was fascinated by the weather and a tough crossword puzzle.

Kay leaves her son, Scott Wylie, of Ware, daughter Jill Kennedy, of Maine, her sisters Barbara Kwasny of Hamden and Dorothy Paluck of Wilbraham, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends she loved as family.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 10 AM at All Saints Church, 17 North Street, in Ware. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Hospice of Western & Central Massachusetts, 55 Church Street, Pittsfield, MA, 01201.
