BARRE/SPRING HILL,FL- Peter J. Cirelli ,71, of Don Loop, Spring Hill, Florida, loving husband and brother passed away in Largo Medical Center in Largo ,Florida.

Peter was born on December 18, 1948 in Ware, MA to Peter A. and Kathryn (Dombrowa) Cirelli. He attended Barre High School, Greenfield Vocational High School and Fitchburg State College where he received his vocational teaching certification. On April 24, 1971, he married Diane G. Glidden of Barre, MA. They resided on Loring Road in Barre, MA for 45 years before moving to Florida full-time in 2016. They had no children.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane of Spring Hill, FL, his brother Matthew of Barre, MA, two brothers-in-law John E. Glidden of Bradenton, FL, and Howard E. Glidden, Jr. of Sarasota, FL, an uncle and aunt, John and Joan Cirelli of Barre, MA; several cousins; 5 nieces; 3 nephews;11 great-nieces and 6 great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Peter and his mother Kathryn.
Peter worked for 12 years as a printer including owning and operating Village Graphics in Barre Plains, MA until taking a position as Graphic Arts Instructor and subsequent Graphic Communications Department Head at Wm. J. Dean Technical High School in Holyoke, MA in 1980. Peter taught at Dean until his retirement in 2009. He also worked as a part-time police officer with the Barre Police Department for 23 years. Peter was a devoted public servant both as a teacher and as a police officer.
Peter had a passion for traveling in his motorhome and belonged to numerous RV clubs in New England and Florida. He was a current member of FMCA, Good Sam, the Aripeca Elks Lodge, and a past member of the Barre Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed building and flying R/C airplanes and shooting at the local gun range. He also loved going on walks with his many friends in the neighborhood and playtime at the local dog park with his little Westie, Logan. Peter was known as a quiet, caring and humorous person who had many many friends.
There will be no funeral service or calling hours per his request. A celebration of his life may be scheduled at a later date. Donations in his memory may be to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the care of Pillsbury Funeral Home 96 S.Barre Rd. Barre.
