SPENCER- James E. Jalbert,Sr.,82, of Spencer died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 13,2021 following an illness.

James is predeceased by his wife Claire (Troy) Jalbert. He leaves 2 sons James E. Jalbert,Jr & his wife Wilma of Matthews,NC and Jeffrey M. Jalbert & his wife Wendy Schlegel of Paxton; 2 daughters Lisa M. DiBonaventura and her husband Michael Sr. of Spencer and Laurie A. Phelan of Spencer; 7 grandchildren Jessica O’Day and her husband Patrick of Rutland,Sean Phelan and his wife Alexandra of NJ,Michael DiBonaventura Jr and his wife Elizabeth of Rutland,Sara Cornacchioli & her husband Domenic of Spencer,Jonathan DiBonaventura of Spencer,Anthony DiBonaventura & his wife Samantha of Spencer and Monique Jalbert of NC; 7 great grandchildren,with a great grandson due in April. He also leaves a brother Joseph Jalbert of Charlton; several sister and bother in laws; many nieces and nephews.
James retired from L.Hardy Knife in 2000. He was also proud to tell everyone he helped construct many places in Worcester while working for Granite Research. He enjoyed working in his garden, taking care of his cats, feeding the birds and trips to Maine where they had a trailer for many years. He was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Worcester.
Private graveside services will be held in Mary Queen of the Rosary Cemetery in Spencer. There are no calling hours as was his wish. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Overlook Hospice, 88 Masonic Home rd. Charlton,MA 01507 or the Second Chance Animal Shelter PO Box 136 E.Brookfield,MA.01515.
