Mom, I miss you. So much.
I miss talking with you and asking your advice. And sometimes getting it even when I didn't want to hear it.
I miss hearing about your garden.
I miss you coming to supper on Sunday nights and hearing about your week.
I miss your strong opinions and your interest in "what's going on in the world."
I miss your stubbornness, and think I may have inherited some of it.
I miss your strength and courage even in adversity. And your deep faith and belief in God.
I just miss all the everyday things about you.
Thank you for being a wonderful Mom.

Mom, You #finishedwell
This is a hashtag from the ALS community. In the mist of batting this hellish disease if you can find peace and hope, then you have finished well. I believe somehow mom found peace and hope within.
Mom would describe the disease as being wrapped up tight like a mummy, but still being alive inside. Slowly loosing the ability to move she went from working full time, painting her house, and gardening to unable to move a single muscle in about a year's time.
If anyone is so inclined to honor mom with a donation, these three local foundations were such a help to us in keeping mom in her home, and they continue to help and guide other local families that are going through this horrific disease.
